A delightfully relaxing, full-day tour which takes in some of the historical and natural attractions plus the local craft of the Peel Region, south of Perth. The morning is spent at the historic Edenvale Homestead Precinct in Pinjarra: an activity hub for local community craft groups (potters, quilters, artists and machine enthusiasts). Late morning continue south and stroll along a raised boardwalk on the banks of pristine Lake Clifton to view the thrombolites: amazing living organisms which have existed over 2000 years. Dine at a local restaurant overlooking the Dawesville Cut and the Peel Inlet. Conclude the day by cruising the Mandurah waterways: home to many species of migratory water birds, bottle-nosed dolphins as well as luxury, waterside homes.

Drive south to historic Pinjarra

Located on the banks of the Murray River, Pinjarra was established as a colonial settlement in 1830 and has many historic landmarks including the beautifully-restored Edenvale Homestead; once home to a former WA Premier Sir Ross McLarty, a descendant of Scottish colonists.

Morning Tea & Local Craft

Enjoy some morning tea in one of the spacious reception rooms of the 1888 homestead before exploring the surrounding buildings of the heritage precinct where you have the opportunity to meet and chat with the local artisans: potters, quilters, artists and machine enthusiasts and browse the Gift Shop where an interesting array of other locally- produced craft items are on display for sale.

After lunch, a short drive brings you to the booming town of Mandurah; home to canal and beachside living. Sit back and relax as you cruise the natural and artificial waterways of the Peel Inlet. Be on the lookout for species of migratory birds in the protected wetlands and pods of bottle-nosed dolphins who are frequent visitors to the estuary.
